FÁS Community Employment Scheme
Clare Local Development Company sponsors a Fás Community Employment Scheme in the Ennis West area. Our scheme provides opportunities for supported employment, skills based training and personal development.
There are fifteen participants working on the scheme in the following areas:
- Childcare
- Reception
- Administration
- Accounts
- Cleaning
- Environmental enhancement
- Bus Driving
The CE scheme has been involved in a number of projects which include the following:
- Litter collecting, grass cutting and weeding kerbsides, pathways and greens in the area
- Planting of trees, shrubs, flowerbeds, hanging baskets and rockeries at estate entrances
- Building and maintenance of a poly tunnel in Cloughleigh
- Grass cutting services for the elderly
- Installation of smoke alarms and panic buttons for the elderly
- Maintenance of office buildings at CLDC
- Painting and maintenance of the Community Centre in Cloughleigh
- Maintenance of Grotto in McHugh Villas
- Caretaking of community premises
- Community childcare
- Ennis Community Bus service
