About us
Welcome
Welcome to the CLDC website. Many people in the county will be familiar with the four organisations which came together in 2009 to form Clare Local Development Company (Ennis West Partners, Rural Resource Development, Eirí Córca Baiscinn and part of Obair Newmarket-on-Fergus). In 2011, East Clare Community Support and part of Ennis CDP also merged with CLDC.
The aim of this bigger organisation is to deliver as many services and supports as possible to the people and communities of Co. Clare. A wide range of needs are being addressed through the local development services we deliver, including training, work placement, grants and advice.
Currently the company employs 182 people on a wide range of programmes and schemes including the LEADER Programme, Local Community Development Programme, Local Training Initiatives, Rural Social Scheme, Community Employment Scheme and Rural Recreation Project. A further 100 people will be employed in the coming months under the Tús scheme.
Our Vision
Our vision for Co. Clare is an enterprising county of inclusive and vibrant communities.
Our Mission
The mission of CLDC is to promote and deliver supports and services for social inclusion, enterprise, rural and community development, both from our own resources and in collaboration with other agencies.
Our Services
We provide a diverse range of supports and services to community and voluntary groups, social inclusion target groups, small businesses, farm families and potential entrepreneurs.
Some of our services are available throughout the county, whilst others are limited to specific geographical areas. We collaborate with a wide range of local organisations in the delivery of our services.
Our Website
Our website should enable you to learn a great deal about what we do and most importantly, how we can help you, your business or your community group. You will find plenty of examples of how we can help you to get started in education, in a small business or in making your community and Co. Clare a better place to live. Also included is information on our Boardmembers, who they represent and our management team.
Your comments on our website and any suggestions on how we can improve it are welcome.
